Clicking the minimap now zooms you to the map position.

Units can be ordered to attack-move to a location, and will engage any enemies or structures they encounter along the way. Hurray!

Units can also be ordered to stop immediately. They'll quickly acquire targets if ones are nearby.  There are buttons to issue these orders, and hotkeys can also be used (A for Attack, S for Stop).
